Zeevissen

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Steenbok

Last but not least, my very own zodiac sign: Capricorn (22 Dec - 21 Jan) my last entry for the House Mouse Zodiac Sign Connection Challenge. I also bought this stamp especially to make this card. A funny detail: I always listen to my IPod on shuffle and while I was making this card I was listening to the song Capricorn (from Motörhead). Behind this card is a little story. Amanda has been saving zodiac sign messages from the (Dutch) newspaper and hang them on the wall. She is still searching for more... If you look closely you can see the Capricorn sign shining bright though the window. The evening sky is my signature, I created it with tree colours distress ink and embossing enamel. I created the zodic sign with a pearl pen. I decided to add the white lines with a sharpie pen to make the Capricorn stand out.
Hope you like last entry for this challenge, I'm looking forward to the next one.

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Stier

Almost there, just one more to go to complete the Zodiac Sign Challenge from House Mouse. This card would be great for my mum, she is a Bull (22 Apr - 21 May). I bought this stamp especially to make this card. You can find them in practically every giftshop: mugs. Mugs with silly sentiments, different occasions, names and sometimes with a zodiac sign. When I saw the Warm Cup stamp I knew I wanted to use it for my Bull card. After stamping the image I put some masking film around the mug, then I stamped the bull skull stamp in the mug and wrote 'the Bull' by hand. I wanted this card to be clean and simple, so I just added a piece of red paper and a short but strong sentiment on a handmade banner.

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Maagd

Now I'm really counting down, only 2 more to go for the House Mouse Zodiac Sign Challenge. This time I made a card for The Virgin (22 Aug - 21 Sep). I didn't want to do a bride stamp, that would be to easy for me. So I choose the Mistle Toe stamp, that mouse looks very shy to receive a kiss so she could be the virgin. The colours that I choose (mainly white) are also based on virgin as in 'virgin white' (Dutch: maagdelijk wit). When I coloured the stamp I tried to pick as soft colours as possible to match it with the white card. To finish it off I placed some flowers, pearls and buttons on the card.

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Ram

This Zodiac Sign Challenge from House Mouse is almost at it's end for me and it is getting harder on the end. It is a real challenge for my creativity, which I love, it can only make me better in my craft work. I have been cracking my brain over The Ram (22 May - 21 Apr) for days! Couldn't find any stamp to match it with so I took a look on Google for zodiac signs and I found this circle (in Dutch) with all the zodiac signs in it. I decided to make a wheel of fortune on my card using that print. I used the House Mouse stamp Juggling Ornaments and put a piece of tape over the ornament before
stamping. After that I drew a line to make her tail complete again. I placed a piece of foam behind the wheel and used a brad to hold it on
it's place. Now Amanda can juggle the wheel around. Because the wheel can actually spin you could use the card for anyone, just place the right picture on the red arrow. I let the weel stop at Ram to cross this one of my list. The background is made with four Distress ink colours. I also put some hints of colour on the wheel to refer to the banner colours. It would be satisfying if I'm able to finish al twelve of them on time, 3 more to go...

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Schorpioen

I enjoyed making this card so much! Love the wild west theme. Figured this theme would fit perfect for my Scorpion (22 Okt - 21 Nov) enrty for the House Mouse Zodiac Sign Challenge. I used a stamp for the wanted poster and drawed the scorpion myself. The House Mouse sheriff just came out of the saloon asking for any tips on the wanted scorpion :) I used the Cling Carrying Mints stamp again because you can use him in different ways when you cut the mints of (I think I'm addicted to this one). I dressed him up with stamps from my wild west clear stamp set. The background paper came of a matching wild west paper bloc. To finish it off I placed a piece of vellum on the card with a short sentiment. I know a man who would like to get this man-card for his birthday :)

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Boogschutter

For my next entry for the Zodiac Sign Connection Challenge by House Mouse I choose The Archer (22 Nov - 21 Dec) but then in the form of cupid. I made another shaker card with pink beads in it. Only this time the stamp is within the shaker part instead of on top of it which I have done with my Aquarius card. The design paper is from the 'girl' version (used the boy version on my Scale card). I also stamped my own background paper with arrows and stamped one big one for on top of the shaker part. Don't they look adorable and do you feel the love?

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Kreeft

My grandmother's birthday is coming up this summer and she is turning 82 this year! She is a wonderful person who always appreciate handmade gifts or something simple like flowers. Because she is a Crab (22 Jun - 21 Jul) and House Mouse has this wonderful challenge right now I decided to make her a zodiac sign birthdaycard this year. The beach toss House Mouse stamp is perfect for this occasion, not only because there is a crab on it. She had the beach at her doorstep so she can take a stroll over the beach anytime she wants! Hope you like this one as well.

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Weegschaal

My friend is about to give birth to a baby boy any day soon now. Just got this cute House Mouse stamp with a bunch of baby mice and a scale on it. Figured this stamp would be perfect to make a card for when the baby is born and because of the Scale (22 Sep - 21 Okt) it also is perfect for another entry for the House Mouse Zodiac Sign challenge. It took a while to colour the image because of all the details, but it is the eyecatcher of the card so worth the while. Finished the card with design paper from Marianne Design.

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Leeuw

My favourite wild animals are the BIG CATS! So for my 4th entry fot the House Mouse Zodiac sign challenge I made a birthday card for a Lion (22 Jul - 21 Aug). Lions have a big appetite, so I picked the mouse that has eaten his belly full on a cupcake. He is enjoying the party dressed up as a lion. First I coloured the stamp (with Distress ink) and covered it with liquid masking film before I started with te background. For the background I used 4 colours of Brusho powder, sprankled it around the image and sprayed some water on it. It is always tricky to pull off the masking layer (don't want to rip off some paper with it). To turn the mouse into a lion I took a piece of vellum paper, punched out a circle and cut the hair lines with a scissor. To make it more orange I put some distress ink with water on it. Because I made it wet and dried it with a heating tool the paper curls up a bit. I cut a part of the stamp out with a hobby knife so I could fit the lion hair around the mouse. To finish the costume off I also gave him a hair piece on his tail. For the sentiment I punched out some banners in different colours, it's party time!

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Tweeling

Ohhh I'm so happy that I can join House Mouse challenges as much times as I want! This is my third entry for the Zodiac Sign challenge. I made Twins (22 May - 21 Jun) card with Distress ink colours. The stamp print and the background excists in just one layer. In order to do that I used one of my favourite techniques: make a stamp print, colour it and then apply a cover of liquid masking film. When the layer is dry it wil appear transparant grey, only then you can start with the background. For the background I used 4 colours: Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, Carved Pumpkin and Mustard Seed. I made prints close to each other with the ink pads on a baking sheet (only use it for crafting, it is wonderful!). After that I sprayed some water over it (generously), layed my stamp print in it and twisted it for a bit (if you overdo it you wil lose the different colours). Let it dry for a bit and made some extra splashes on it. To finish the card of I stamped the sentiment Happy B-day, for that I used the same colours as I used for colouring my stamp image. Sometimes you just have to work dirty to make it more fun (my hands are always covered in ink after such projects LOL).

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Waterman

I'm just so excited about this House Mouse Zodiac Sign connection challenge  that I want to try to make as much Zodiac Sign (for the Dutchies: sterrenbeeld) cards with House Mouse stamps as I can. The plus-side of this is that I will have a stack of original birthday cards :). For my first card  I chose fishes. This second card I went for Aquarius (22 Jan - 21 Feb). I made a shaker card that represents the water where our little House Mouse is diving in to. On the stamp the mouse is diving in a pile of leaves, which I left out on the card (coloured it with Distress ink). The background is made with Brusho powder and a waterdrop stamp from Katzelkraft. I spelled Aquarius in Dutch (waterman) because I am going to send the card to a Dutch relative. Hope you like this one as well.

House Mouse Challenge #211 Zodiac Sign Connection Vissen

This time House Mouse challengeblog  has a special and FUN challenge. The challenge is to make a card inspired by a zodiac sign connection (for the dutchies: sterrenbeelden). I'm a Capricorn, but I couldn't find any stamps to work with that, so after going trough all my House Mouse stamp I found one that inspired me! I had to cut off some piece and add another stamp to it, but I'm happy with the creativity I've put into it. I choose Pisces/ Fish (22 february - 21 march) and I want to share some steps I took while making this card, first I coloured the fish and carrying mints stamp and cut them out. Then I glued the fish in the arms of the cute mouse (you could call it carrying fish now LOL). For the next step I needed a pole to stand in the water. For the pole I used a part of a stamp to start and finished it off by drawing the rest of it. I glued a piece of rope on it so that the mouse can return to the shore after bringing the fish together. Up next: making water on the card with the other fish in it. First I coloured the water and stamped the fish in it. To make it look more like water I placed a piece of vellum in it. I used no glue for that, because you'll see the lines and that is nog pretty so I used brads to hold the vellum on its place. To finish it of I found a great sentiment (I SEA it's your birthday) to go with it, now I just have to find someone(Pisces) to send it to. In the end my card tells you a little story, hope you like it!

Gruffies and Guests BINGO Challenge #25

Gruffies and Guests challenge blog have such a fun challenge right now! It is a BINGO challenge (see bingo picture). You must use all items within a line, this could be up-down, diagonal or across (or use it all, but that seems a bit much). I chose flowers, ribbon and brads with purple as main colour. The stamp is coloured with Distress ink.
