Lawnscaping Challenge: Try a NEW technique

This challenge from Lawn Fawn appeals the most to me. It actually really was a hard challenge for me. I have tryed so many things over the past years... Especially sinds I work in a craftingstore, there I always try to figure out a new technique or try out a new product. The card of Samantha Casey Inspired me. She used embossed vellum paper on her card. I have used vellum paper before for scrapbooking, I printed some lyrics on it and used it for my background. It made me wonder what else I could do with vellum paper, never used it for a card so this had to be my technique for this challenge.

I Loved the technique of embossing vellum paper. Had a nice embossing folder laying in my closet that would be perfect for my card. This time I dit not used any Lawn Fawen products because I made this card for a goodbye of a little baby that passed away and my Lawn Fawn products dit not fit this theme. I pinned my stars background (white vellum paper) with pink splitting pins. I also had a piece of pink vellum paper, on that paper I stamped a feather and used black embossing powder on it. Cut it out and sticked it on with 3D glue dots. Finally I cutterd the name out of the pink vellum paper and sticked it on the little cloud with tacky glue.

Art Specially Winning Monday #3

Het event is voorbij, maar de winning monday nog niet! De opdeacht deze keer is een kaart maken met chloor techniek. Het liefst met de nieuwe stempellap van Art Specially. Ik had de nieuwe
stempellap besteld op het event en vlak voor deze wedstrijd viel hij op mijn deurmat :) Ik kon het weer niet laten en heb 4 kaarten gemaakt met chloor techniek. Dat maakt het kiezen wel weer lastig. Ik heb uiteindelijk de blauwe kaart ingestuurd met de tekst 'Paint your Canvas of Life' Mijn inspiratie voor deze kaart/ tekst heb ik gehaald uit een liedje van mijn favoriete band: Epica - Canvas of Life.

Met chloor kun je hele mooie effecten creëren. Je kunt dan het beste een speciaal chloor kwastje
gebruiken, het blijft natuurlijk agressief spul. Helaas heb ik dat speciale kwastje niet en besloot het met een oud goedkoop kwastje te doen. Het is gebleken dat je inderdaad geen gewoon kwastje voor chloor moet gebruiken, ik begon met een lange penseel en eindigde met een stompje. de haren zijn opgelost in het chloor.

Ik heb mijn kaart steeds afgeplakt met tape  zodat ik allemaal rechthoekige vlakjes overhield. Deze heb ik ingekleurd met 3 tinten Distress ink die dicht bij elkaar liggen met behulp van mijn ink blending tool. Daarna heb ik gestempeld en met chloor de stempels meer tot leven laten komen.

Lawnscaping Challenge: WATERCOLORS

This is my kind of challenge! I love playing with watercolor products. My top favorite one is Distress ink. For this card I used Brusho and Distress ink. And sinds this a Lawn Fawn challenge I had to use my Lawn Fawn stamps. First I stamped the hearts, coffee cups and one bagel. I took my liquid masking film and covered my stamppress with it. Then I stamped the second bagel and put some masking film on it. This way you can layer your stamps without lines getting crossed. The other nice thing about masking your stamps is that you can colour your background while your stamppresses stay white. This is perfect if you want your card to be flat.

I took two colours Brusho and put them in the lower corner of my card, then sprayed some water on in and dryed the card with my heating tool. I finished the background with two colours Distress ink with help from my ink blending tool. Added the sentiment and some coffee beans. Hope you like it.

Noor! Sketch it Challenge #1

Voor deze Challenge heb je het Noor! magazine 2e jaargang nr. 6 nodig. Daar staat de sketch per stap om op te bouwen. Er staan ook wat voorbeelden bij. Ik heb gekozen om een kaartje te maken met the Queen of Hearts. Ik ben dol op Alice in Wonderland en alle karakters die erin zitten. Ik kijk dan ook alle films/ series hierover. Inmiddels heb ik 3 versies van the Red Queen gezien. 1 met zwart haar, 1 met rood haar en 1 met blond haar. Voor het inkleuren van mijn stempel heb ik inspiratie gehaald uit alle 3.

1. Tim Burton's Red Queen, hier heb ik de kleur haar en oogschaduw gekozen.
2. Disney's Queen of Hearts, ik heb wat plukjes zwart haar laten terugkomen in de stempel.
3. Once Upon a Time in Wonderland's Red Queen, ze is altijd helemaal in het rood en daarom ik heb de jurk helemaal rood gekleurd in mijn stempel.

Happy Bithday

Vandaag is mijn moeder jarig, maar we hebben het afgelopen zondag gevierd. Omdat haar verjaardag en moeder dag zo dicht bij elkaar liggen hebben we het tegelijk gevierd. Daardoor kwam ik op een leuk idee voor een verjaardagskaart. Op de voorkant van de kaart staat een tekst die slaat op haar verjaardag en als je de kaart open doet staat er een tekst die slaat op moeder dag. De stempel heb ik ingekleurd met Distress ink. Ik heb geen van Distress geen huidskleur dus ik heb 2 kleuren gemengd hiervoor: Scatterd Straw & Spun Sugar. De stempel is van Kraftin Kimmie.
